This card was extremely useful in Duelist Kingdom (Kingdom Edition). At the time, there was no sacrificial summoning, so if you could summon a card with 2000 ATK early on, you could gain an advantage.
Another popular combo is fusing with Dark Knight Gaia to become Dragon Knight Gaia.

Since the Sacrifice Summoning rule was implemented, its use has drastically decreased, probably because it is a 5-star card. It is also a normal card with no special effects, so it seems to have become out of place.
However, Curse of Dragon, which was so popular in the very early days, is on par with the aforementioned Dark Knight Gaia and Demon Summon, and I think it's a card that makes you feel like this era was also good.
