Here's a quick rundown of the process from purchasing to selling!
Share
Hello! This is the manager of Tremor.
Currently, Tremor has approximately 1,000 cards in stock.
Among these cards are some that appeared in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! game, but there are also many that did not appear in it.
What does Manager Tremor do, from buying cards to putting them up for sale?
This time, we would like to introduce you to the behind-the-scenes aspects of Tremor.
The process from purchase to listing
Buying cards
First, we will purchase the card from the customer.
At the moment, the process is analogue, but in the future we would like to prepare a purchase form so that the process can be completed online.
Condition check and appraisal
When purchasing cards, we will check their condition and assess them.
Checking the condition and assessing it is an important task not only in determining the purchase price, but also in determining the selling price.
This applies not only to Yu-Gi-Oh cards but also to trading cards in general, and even when purchasing items such as brand-name bags, the price can vary greatly depending on the condition of the item.
If the card itself is highly valuable (e.g., it is in low circulation), the amount will be large even if the card is in slightly poor condition.
However, generally speaking, the better the condition, the higher the price will be, so the better the condition.
Registration of arrival information
The cards purchased in this way are registered in a database that consolidates Tremor's arrival information.
The amount will be enormous if we continue to include future items, so carefully managing incoming arrival information will lead to inventory management and listing work.
In addition, Tremor does not simply input the cards that have arrived, but also registers information about each card, such as linking the card model number to the official Yu-Gi-Oh! database, entering sales information at other stores, and the condition of the card when it was appraised.
Product photography (attention to detail)
At Tremor, we photograph and upload each card one by one.
In a way, it's the same as online shops that sell second-hand goods, such as Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions.
There are many online stores that sell second-hand trading cards, including Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
Some sites post a scanned image of just one card, and then sell the rest of the cards according to their condition.
If it were new, it would be one thing, but since it's a second-hand item, I'm sure you're curious about what the actual item is like.
Unlike physical stores, online shops do not allow you to see the actual products.
The only way to see the actual item is through photographs.
In that sense, it certainly does take time, but at Tremor we take photos of all the cards and list each one as a separate item.
Product listing
Once you have all the necessary information, you can enter the product information and publish it to list.
The listing process doesn't just involve registering the item, it also involves writing up the "card story," which is Tremor's speciality.
By the way, the official Tremor store uses a shopping cart system called Shopify.
The design is cool and the admin screen is easy to use, making it a useful tool for shops with a large number of products like Tremor.
The listing process itself is tedious and difficult work, but it also allows me to offer an originality that isn't possible on Yahoo! Auctions or Mercari.
New products are being added all the time!
I haven't done detailed calculations, but since this is the type of work we do, it takes a fair amount of time per piece.
The manager of Tremor has a variety of jobs outside of Tremor, so he works on this in his spare time.
Of course, that doesn't mean we're doing it right.
In fact, I enjoy the time I spend with Tremor, and it motivates me to work hard at my other jobs as well.
During the time I have available to work on Tremor, I concentrate on my work, breathing life into the cards that featured prominently in the original work.
We will continue to add more products from time to time!
Thank you for your continued support.
